“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.” - Coco Chanel

outrageous

I wish it was more socially acceptable to dress completely outrageously from time to time, although that would defeat the purpose of being so outrageous. Wearing leopard print jeans or a Mexican poncho (Ugly Betty style) might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s nothing wrong with taking risks, unless it’s a complete fashion faux pas (like said Mexican poncho). I know I’d love to walk out of my house wearing the equivalent of a “Chicago” outfit, I’m thinking the jewelled corset/dress the Renee wears in “roxie hart”, but the truth is, you’d get stared at or laughed at. It seems it’s not out of being mean that this happens, it might just be that people have no other way to handle their jealousy except from laughing. Or they’re maybe scared of something being so different from the “norm” that it is immediately unacceptable. Maybe if this didn’t happen though, you wouldn’t have the thrill of wearing something daring, knowing that you thought you looked good, and that’s all that matters, giving Lady GaGa a run for her money at the same time. Take a risk, express yourself, even if you are just taking a trip to get milk from the spar.
